Our South Carolina Find (First Travel Bug Found)

>> Monday, April 5, 2010

We set off on our road trip this afternoon.  The kids are on spring break and we wanted to take them on a short trip.  The plan is to hit Geocaches on the way.  We found our first at a rest stop in South Carolina.

It's the little blue box in the middle of those trees.

We found our first "Travel Bug" in this Cache  For those of you who don't know what they are here is the idea!

A Travel Bug is a trackable item that moves from place to place, picking up stories along the way. When a Travel Bug is found you log it in and can add your own story about where and how you found it.  You then drop it into another cache to continue its travel.  You can track their progress and view it's history at http://www.geocaching.com/. It's like living vicariously through each bug's adventures.

Current GOAL for LEAFY: Travel the National Parks of the USA and take photos. Return to Germany in 2011 (this bug has traveld 2057 Miles to get to its destinations)

Even though we were sad that you weren't coming down to Florida to spend Easter with us, we are glad to see that you decided to go do something FUN!
