Geocaching With Family & Friends
>> Monday, April 5, 2010
We were thrilled when we found out that our nephews (Isreal & Miguel) were gonna be in town since they were on spring break. Nilda drove the kids up to spend time with us also. Maurlene and Asha came to joy in all the fun. We took the kids caching with us to introduce everyone to our treasure hunts, while Nilda and Israel stayed back to relax a bit without the kids.
We went searching for a few easy ones to start.....some within walking distances and others that were park and grabs.
Then we set off for a big one
We hiked 3 miles (1-1/2 miles each way) to find this one.
We left all of the travel bugs we found the previous trips in this cache. it was such a hike that we figured anyone who made it deserved to find some travel bugs.
We did not realize it until our drive home on Sunday but apparently one of the kids had found an additional travel bug earlier in the day. They did not realize what they had found. Guy found it under a car seat while cleaning up the car.
Here is the story (journey for that bug). This "Worm" originated in Woodburn, California. It has not current mission just traveling from state to state. It was orignally placed in its first Cache 11/03/2008. And has traveled 3,041 Miles and has been hidden in caches in 8 states. We will be dropping it in a Cache in Charlotte next weekend.
